This black and white, drawing of a fox silhouette jumping on a snowy landscape was formed on a geometric foundation of vesica pisces using techniques like stippling, hatching, and detailed line work.
 
Seen hunting here, this iconic jump is known as “mousing”. It is hypothesized that foxes use the Earth’s magnetic field to hunt. They most often jump and are successful when facing in a northeast direction.
 
As a symbol, foxes permeate legends and mythology across the globe. They’re attributes include agility, passion, stealth, curiousity, playfulness, and mischief. 
 
The original drawing is acid-free, archival ink on 100 lb bristol paper (6" x 6" | 15 cm x 15 cm). Hand drawn in 2023 by Sarah Skiold-Hanlin.
