Joshua Jackrabbit Reproduction

"break taboos, mix things up, experience freedom"

This friendly black and white, black-tailed jackrabbit portrait was formed on a geometric foundation of vesica pisces and the golden ratio using techniques like stippling, hatching, and detailed line work.

The ears, containing Joshua Trees, add a window into one of their many habitats. The black-tailed jackrabbit is the most common hare in North America and can be found in prairies, meadows, and grasslands. Their huge ears aren’t just for hearing, they act as their main cooling system. As a symbol, hares represent fertility, spontaneity, and using your intuition. In Native American tales, the jackrabbit is also often a lighthearted trickster.

The original drawing is acid-free, archival ink on 100 lb bristol paper (24" x 18" | 61 cm x 46 cm). Hand drawn in 2023 by Sarah Skiold-Hanlin.
